Atomic safety flip

This safety drill is to teach an athlete to keep their head in-between their legs when they are in trouble pulling any type of double back flipping skill on any event.

  • Start this progression by back flipping to land on feet and roll back learning to pull their head in-between their legs

  • Perform the same drill holding the shape to miss feet and land on butt

  • Continue to advance the same drill holding shape to miss feet & butt to land on back

  • Master stage of this drill holding shape to land on back and continue the roll backward to roll up to their feet (standing double back timer)

  • Raise the landing surface, which will start to challenge them to commit holding their heads they are forced to land short (not included in video) and they will fall forward onto their back (if their head is out they would fall on their head or face
